When the Chicago Bears have beaten the Green Bay Packers in the Favre/Rodgers era, the victories have been savory–especially at Lambeau Field. Eight of the Bears’ 15 wins in the Favre/Rodgers era have come at the Frozen Tundra. Some of the victories have been memorable and some have been shocking.

November 7th, 1999: Chicago Bears beat Green Bay 14-13 on some divine intervention…

It was the first Bears game following the passing of iconic running back Walter Payton. The Bears honored their all-time greatest player by snapping a 10-game losing streak to Green Bay.

Rookie quarterback Cade McNown started the game but left early after spraining his knee. Jim Miller came in relief but threw three interceptions. Although, he was able to find Bobby Engram in the endzone in the third quarter to give the Bears the lead.

Favre drove the Packers down into field-goal range late in the game. Ryan Longwell was set up for an easy 28-yard field goal attempt. The win streak seemed certain to extend to 11 games.

Then divine intervention happened. Bryan Robinson, all 300 pounds-plus of him, elevated just high enough to block the kick. The Bears won and the misery of losing to the Packers through most of the ’90s was briefly over.

How was it divine intervention? According to Robinson, he felt the divine presence of Walter Payton on the block.

"“Walter Payton picked me up in the air.”"

October 1st, 2000: Cade McNown connects with Marcus Robinson for two big plays as the Bears stun the Packers 27-24…

McNown was a major draft bust for Chicago but he never lost in the two Bears-Packers games he started.

Despite being sacked five times, McNown completed 11 of 20 passes for 203 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for another score.

Those two touchdowns were caught by Robinson on two huge plays. Robinson caught a deep pass in the first half from McNown and walked freely into the endzone after two Packers defensive backs collided into each other Three Stooges style.

Robinson had another huge play in the third quarter with a 58-yard touchdown catch to put the Bears up 24-3. Robinson only had those two catches for 126 yards but that was all the Bears’ offense needed.

Favre led a rally that came up short as the Bears picked up their first win of the season and snapped a six-game losing streak.
