Chicago Bulls: Back on track after tough loss earlier in the week
The Chicago Bulls went into their game on Wednesday as heavy favorites. They were playing the one-win Houston Rockets. That was a game that the Chicago Bulls need to win if they really want to be considered contenders. Losing to a team like that, which they did 118-113, is unacceptable. It happened and it can’t change but they need to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
Their game on Friday became so much more important as losing would have been horrid. They needed a bounce-back win to really put that loss to the Rockets behind them. With the Bulls on the road to take on the Orlando Magic, it was also a game that they should win. The Magic went in with four wins which means that they are almost as bad as the Rockets.
Luckily, the Bulls won the game by a final score of 123-88. Not only did they beat the Magic but they also beat them by a large margin. They needed to destroy a team following a loss to the Rockets and they did. It was a great game.
Coby White, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine all had 20 points or more which is great to see. Nikola Vucevic and Lonzo Ball each had double-digit points as well so their biggest players all contributed at a high level in the win. Of course, depth pieces like Alex Caruso and Ayo Dosunmu were great as well.
The Chicago Bulls need to take care of their business against the weaker teams.
In order for the Bulls to truly take the next step this year, they need everyone to carry their weight. Each player on this team has a purpose and they all mean a lot to their chances to win. It is a lot of fun to watch them when they play as they did on Friday because it is clear that they can make some noise when it is going like that.
The Bulls are back at it tonight when they take on the Miami Heat. Unlike the Rockets and Magic, this is actually a really good team. The Bulls have shown that they can beat good teams but they have also shown that they can lose to bad teams.
The Heat are right there with the Bulls in the top three of the Eastern Conference right now. This game could be really telling for where the Bulls truly are in relation to their competition at the top of the conference. Coming in off a big win should do them well.
