There are a lot of bad things that came from the Chicago Bears‘ performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. They are not a good football team but things got even worse with this one and now they are 3-7 which is a well-deserved record. The worst part of the game was the fact that Justin Fields was lost to injury.

He left the game due to a rib injury. Since then, it has come out that he has not suffered any broken bones and will continue to be evaluated. There is no timetable for his return but there is one thing that we know. Andy Dalton is going to be the guy under center on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.

This is awful news for the Chicago Bears. There are people who watch Fields and just understand that he has all of the tools to be an NFL star but is hindered by the coaching staff. Going out there and playing, however, is still good for him in terms of his development so this injury really stings.

Dalton came in and replaced Fields after the injury against the Ravens and did okay. He missed a lot of passes by overthrowing the ball but he wasn’t the reason they lost the game. The reason they lost is that they are a bad football team that is poorly run in every way.

Andy Dalton is going to start on Thanksgiving for the Chicago Bears in Detroit.

It is also awful because now we don’t know how long it will be before Fields is back. If Dalton goes out there and destroys the 0-9-1 Lions, you can bet your bottom dollar that Nagy will continue to go with him as long as he is healthy. They are going to ruin Fields in every way.

It would honestly be better for the Bears to lose the game to Detroit for a lot of different reasons. With Dalton under center, losing to them might be embarrassing enough for the team to make significant changes mid-season. You never want to root for your team to lose, especially when it doesn’t have the upcoming draft’s first-round pick, but it might be worth it this week.

Hopefully, Fields is able to play sometime soon. This franchise needs him to develop the way that other franchise quarterbacks have been developing. Watching Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen amongst others develop has been awesome as football fans. As Bears fans, we want that for Fields so Andy being forced to start on Thanksgiving is awful.
