Nikola Jokic would look amazing in a Chicago Bulls uniform
The Chicago Bulls are coming off one of their worst losses of the season. However, at 10-5, they are in fantastic shape going into the rest of the season. Every team loses games but the Bulls need to work on not blowing games that they once had a lead by 20. Their first chance at a bounce-back game comes tonight against the Denver Nuggets.
When you think of modern-day Denver Nuggets basketball, you think of Nikola Jokic. He is one of the very best players in the NBA right now as shown by the fact that he is the reigning league MVP. He is also a three-time all-star and three-time all-NBA. This is the type of player to pay extra close attention to when watching the Nuggets.
The Bulls have a different player leading each of the major statistical categories right now. For the Nuggets, Jokic leads pretty much all of them. He is the type of player that you look to in every single game where the Bulls have multiple good players that they rely on in different areas.
Not to get too ahead of ourselves, but Jokic would look amazing in a Bulls uniform. Arturas Karnisovas was with the Denver Nuggets when they selected Jokic in the second round (41st overall) in the 2014 NBA Draft. You would think that connection makes the Bulls a high-priority free agent destination for Jokic if he ever decided to leave Denver.
Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are going to be a great test for the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls playing well is a big factor in all of this. One major free agent like that might be what turns the Bulls into a legit threat to win the NBA Title. If this group that is currently constructed added a player like Jokic, then things would really get real.
For now, however, they are the enemy. This is a tough matchup for the Bulls. Jokic is hard to contain for any team but missing Nikola Vucevic makes it even tougher because he won’t be there to guard him. That became an issue in the second half against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday so we can only hope that they do enough in this game against the Nuggets.
Historically, the Bulls aren’t great against the Nuggets in general. In 95 games between the two franchises, Denver is 55-40. A lot of the Bulls’ recent history is not good so it would be nice to see them end this trend. If they are able to take care of their business against Jokic and the Nuggets this time around, it would be the definition of a statement win.
