3 reasons the Chicago Bulls must trade for Marvin Bagley

2. The Chicago Bulls could get Marvin Bagley at a decent price
The Kings and Bagley have been at each other’s throats as of late, and he is absolutely going to be dealt. With this being public knowledge, it’s going to be difficult for Sacramento to get exactly what they want in return for him.
Obviously, Bagley is in the last year of his rookie contract. That makes him a half-season rental at this point. With the league knowing he is not going to extend in Sacramento, and that he’ll be traded, then his price has to go down a bit.
So far, the Kings are not getting the type of interest they want for Bagley. Being a former no. 2 overall pick, Bagley could normally go for a pretty hefty price. However, the fact that the team trading for him might not get him back next season makes that difficult for the Kings.
If the Bulls could offer Sacramento something along the lines of Marko Simonovic and a future second-round pick (or two), that might get it done. We don’t know what Simonovic can do at this point and he might not be ready. Getting a surefire starter right away would be worth the sacrifice.
