Chicago Bulls: 4 big men Bulls should trade for immediately
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bulls should trade for Marvin Bagley
Lastly, and arguably the biggest splash trade the Bulls could make, is to go after former no. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley. The Sacramento Kings will not be keeping him around for the long haul and have had internal issues with Bagley. He is on the last year of his rookie deal and could come in right away and become the starting power forward for Chicago, auditioning for his next home in 2022.
Bagley has had injury issues in the past, so this would be a bit of a risk. Also, the Kings have to understand they won’t get the value they might be seeking for a player of Bagley’s draft status. Because of those injury issues and his disgruntled status right now, Sacramento isn’t exactly in a great place.
In Bagley, the Bulls would be getting a guy who shoots 50 percent from the field for his career and averages over 14 points and 7.5 rebounds per night. He would not be a long-term solution, as the Bulls again would be using him as a rental until Williams is back next year.
But, this would be a big move for the Bulls. It would benefit Chicago, getting a much-needed big man. But it would also benefit Bagley, as he’d have his chance to prove he’s worthy of a big contract next offseason when he is a free agent.
