2021 has been a disaster for the Chicago Bears. Ryan Pace has built a very flawed roster that is incredibly top-heavy. He has been a very bad draft-picking general manager, especially in the early rounds. Matt Nagy has also been awful at getting the most out of the roster. The man who was supposed to be an offensive genius leads one of the worst offenses in franchise history.

One player that they may have hit on is Justin Fields. He has all the tools of an elite NFL quarterback. He was outstanding at Ohio State University and showed the world why he should be a first-round pick. So far in 2021, despite the team’s issues, Fields has benefited.

The main reason that he is benefiting from this year is that he is seeing what it is like to lose. He didn’t do much of that leading up to this year so he can see how hard losing is. Going forward, he is going to be motivated to not have any more seasons like that.

When the franchise moves on from Pace and Nagy, Fields will be around to tell about how bad it was and how he won’t wanna experience that again. He can learn from all the things that went wrong and know what to do about it as he progresses through his development.

The Chicago Bears need to make sure that 2021 ends up being a beneficial year.

We have already seen Fields get better with every passing day. Where he is at now and where he was at the beginning of the season are completely different places. It has been really good to watch as he shows more and more why the Bears traded up to get him. 2021 will always be the year that he made his NFL debut and started his career.

If he does reach that incredible potential, we will all look back at this year as one of the most important. He learned how to play quarterback at the NFL level but he also learned how to deal with adversity so early on.

Justin Fields is like nothing the Bears have ever had before. He has made some throws that only a few people in the world can make. A satisfying thing about it is the fact that he can also do a lot on the run. Throwing across his body and making plays out of blown coverage is something that is needed in today’s NFL and Fields does that.

The Bears might be turning the corner in terms of their offense. They haven’t been a team that scores a lot but Fields can make things happen. The Pittsburgh Steelers have an elite defense and Fields helped lead the Bears to an offensive explosion (by their standards).

If he can continue to build on this year, we will all eventually look back and see this year as a success. If he can look good with a roster like this and with a head coach like Nagy, imagine what he can do on a competent team with a competent coach.
