Chicago Bulls: Zach LaVine has the dunk of the season
The Chicago Bulls continue to put up impressive win after win. The latest came in Wednesday night’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. Each team went into the game with a record of 7-3 and was looking to build on it. The Bulls prevailed to get that 8-3 record thanks to a 117-107 victory.
There were many things that contributed to the big win. For one, Zach LaVine is a complete superstar now. He led the Bulls in scoring during this game which isn’t the least bit surprising. He had 23 points to go with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
It certainly wasn’t his highest-scoring performance but the team around him allowed it to be evenly spread. Good teams have stars and great teams have stars that are supported by depth players which is what you saw vs the Mavs. Five players had 15 points or more in the contest.
What LaVine did do, however, was a highlight-reel dunk that you will see on television for a long time. It legitimately might be considered one of the dunks of the year when it is all said and done. Alex Caruso, Nikola Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball made a great passing play to spring LaVine for the dunk that was scored in Spin-o-Rama fashion.
Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls scored a dunk that many won’t soon forget.
This dunk made it 115-101 in favor of the Bulls which pretty much sealed the deal for the hometown team. It was as nice of a play as you will see all season long. As long as the Bulls continue to make awesome plays like this, they will continue to win big games like this one.
Speaking of big games, they have plenty of those coming up. A five-game road trip against five very good west coast teams is on deck for the Bulls. They begin in California against the Golden State Warriors. The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers follow that before they play the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets to close it out.
It is a very tough stretch for the team on fire right now. We will learn a lot about them as they make their way through the murderer’s row that is on the west coast of the NBA. There are some championship-caliber teams over there that will test the Bulls to see what they truly are.
If Zach LaVine can continue to take advantage of his awesome teammates as he did at home against Dallas, they will be in good shape. Remember this dunk because it is going to come up again throughout the season. It will be fun to see what he comes up with next.
