Kevin Weekes

The Chicago Blackhawks would do well with Kevin Weekes as the new GM.

Eddie Olczyk and Kevin Weekes are both TV broadcasters that would make outstanding General Managers or Presidents. Weekes is someone that is also well respected in the hockey community that would bring great relationships to the organization. He also comes from the outside meaning he is bringing a fresh perspective to the organization.

Weekes might bring something to the organization that they have never had. He may keep Derek King as the coach or he might find his own guy. Either way, he would make a decision that helps his team win more hockey games.

Kevin was an NHL goaltender for a long time. He spent time with seven teams over 11 years. He wasn’t a star goalie but he was a really nice backup for many years. He even had time behind Martin Brodeur who is now in a management role with the New Jersey Devils. There is a lot of knowledge there that could really help out an organization.

He deserves a chance to be involved with an NHL team in a management role. He has done a great job with his broadcast career after retiring from the league but it is clear that he can give more. The Hawks would look really smart for considering him.
