Chicago Bears: 3 contenders to trade with at the deadline
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears should make a trade with the Arizona Cardinals
Prior to Week 8, the Arizona Cardinals remained the last undefeated team in the NFL this season. Kyler Murray has been playing some excellent football, and the Arizona defense has been doing just enough to win games.
But, then they ran into the Green Bay Packers and were without one key player as they dropped their first game of the season. J.J. Watt is likely out for the year now, and the Cardinals need some help filling his shoes.
The Bears have a couple of guys they could offer up in a trade with Arizona. First and foremost, Robert Quinn could be a nice addition. He has played both outside linebacker and defensive end over his career, so the Cardinals could use him either way.
Second, the Cardinals could also deal for Akiem Hicks. While he’s not the prototypical defensive end/pass rusher, Hicks would still help that front stop the run on a more regular basis. He’s also still a threat to get to the quarterback on any given Sunday.
With the Cardinals being a real contender this season, the Bears should take advantage. If they could get a mid-round pick for either one of those guys, Chicago would be better off.
