Chicago Bears should begin fire sale by trading these 5 players
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears should trade Akiem Hicks at the deadline
This would be the toughest trade to see happen, because Akiem Hicks is the heart and soul of this Bears defense. Hicks desires to stay in Chicago and retire a Bear, but there is no guarantee the Bears make that happen.
While he loves Chicago, and Chicago loves him, Hicks’ body has not been as reliable the last few years as he’s been injured every season it seems. Even though this year’s injury was relatively minor, it’s clear that Hicks has been unable to stay healthy.
Once again, dealing Hicks to a contender like Quinn would be a brilliant move. In Hicks’ case, it would be especially smart because his contract is up after this year. If the Bears truly don’t plan to bring him back, then attempting to get something in return is a must.
One team that makes a ton of sense is the Arizona Cardinals, who just lost J.J. Watt for the season. Adding another defensive lineman who can stuff the run and rush the passer would be a big pick-me-up for that defense.
