The Chicago Bulls were off to a very nice start this season. That 4-0 start was one of the best that the team has ever had. Ahead of game five, they honored one of the best players that the team has had over the last 20 years and that is Joakim Noah. Not only did they honor him, but they also did an outstanding job doing so.

Before the game started, they played a few videos of Noah but they waited until almost halfway through the game to show him live on the video board. Throughout the entire game, they showed a bunch of different notable Bulls players and coaches that were in attendance.

Amongst them was Derrick Rose who was the best player on the team during the Joakim Noah era. He wasn’t a player that was in the crowd like the rest however as he was actually playing for the New York Knicks on the other side.

Rose’s coach with New York is Tom Thibodeau who of course was the Bulls’ coach back when Noah and Rose were teammates in Chicago. Billy Donovan, who was Noah’s coach at Florida (where they won back-to-back NCAA championships) is the Bulls’ current coach obviously so the two most important coaches in his life were involved in the game.

The Chicago Bulls did a tremendous job honoring Joakim Noah on Thursday night.

The Bulls did wonderful with this video montage. It had everything in it that made Noah’s career with the Bulls so special. There were a lot of laughs and a lot of good times with this guy that will always be remembered. Once they showed him on the screen in the flesh, the night felt amazing for Bulls fans.

There is no doubt that Joakim Noah is going to go down as one of the ten most beloved Chicago Bulls in their history. It is a history rich with great players so seeing him involved in that group is incredible. Hopefully, he enjoyed this as much as the fans in attendance seemed to.

There was a basketball game played as well. The modern-day Chicago Bulls fell just short of the modern-day New York Knicks by a final score of 114-113. Chicago was down big late in the 4th quarter but a 12-0 run allowed them to have a chance at a buzzer-beater for the win.

The buzzer-beater fell just short and the Bulls lost so both teams are now 4-1. Bulls vs Knicks has a chance to be an outstanding matchup this year and fans should be looking forward to every game this season. This Bulls franchise is so back. It is nice to know that while honoring great players like Joakim Noah in the meantime.
