The Chicago Bears send Robert Quinn to the Cincinnati Bengals for a 4th round pick.

Hold on, folks. Before we lose our minds, let’s talk through this. Robert Quinn had a nightmare start to his career with the Bears that was filled with injuries and ugly plays. Fortunately, he has had a nice rebound in 2021, emerging as one of the better edge rushers in the league.

The problem is that he is 31. Making it fair to assume that he is not going to be around for the long haul. Luckily for the Bears, his value will never be higher, so getting something for him makes the most sense for this team’s direction.

This move would also add 16 million dollars in cap space in 2022, which is really the most alluring part. Even if he stayed at this level, he still isn’t worth what that amount of money could buy the Bears on offense.

The Bengals on the other hand surprised everyone with their win over the Ravens. Sitting at first place in the AFC, a bendy speed rusher could be the missing piece to a super bowl run.

Quinn’s services make much more sense for Cincy’s timeline and they have the cap space to pull off a trade. If they were to show interest the Bears should absolutely entertain them.
