Tonight, the Chicago Bulls are going to face the New York Knicks. Chicago is off to a very good 4-0 start which is one of the best starts they have ever had. They are looking to build on that so that they can be considered one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. There are many reasons to believe that they will do just that.

They might get some motivation before tonight’s game. One of the best players in team history, Joakim Noah, is going to be honored before the game. He also played for the New York Knicks in his career which makes this the perfect night to honor him.

Those days with Noah were certainly special. With other great players like Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, and Luol Deng amongst others, the team was very good for a long time. They never made it over the hump to win an NBA Championship but they came close to reaching the Finals a few times.

It was probably the second-best era in Chicago Bulls history. We know about the Michael Jordan era and why that is probably the best era for any team in the history of the sport. Many years later, Noah was one of the key leaders that the team had in a lot of areas both on and off the court.

It was a true pleasure to watch Joakim Noah play for the Chicago Bulls.

Noah was the type of player that impacted everyone he met in a positive way. He certainly impacted now Bulls coach Billy Donovan at one point. Of course, Donovan was the coach at Florida where he and Noah won back-to-back NCAA titles. That is a relationship that will be bonded forever as they accomplished something that is so hard in sports.

Donovan isn’t the only active NBA coach impacted by Noah. Coaching the New York Knicks on the other side will be Tom Thibodeau who Noah had a huge impact on. Thibodeau coached Noah with the Bulls so you know they were tight. They had a lot of success with one another. Seeing both coaches in the building for this moment will be special.

A lot of people will remember the Joakim Noah era fondly. The Bulls did a lot of winning during that time so it will be interesting to see what the reaction is to all of this tonight. Of course, it would be nice to see the Bulls make it 5-0 on the season to celebrate.
