Chicago Bears: 3 fair trade packages for Andy Dalton
The Chicago Bears are in a tough spot right now. They are 3-3 and look very bad on offense in just about every game. Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace have done a terrible job of running the organization over their time there and it is finally enough. Drafting Justin Fields is a step in the right direction but they need new people there to get him to his max potential.
Andy Dalton is there as Fields backup but it took a weird injury for the Bears to even make that switch. We also can’t ignore the fact that Nick Foles is there as well. This is all after drafting Mitchell Trubisky with the 2nd overall pick in 2017 right after signing Mike Glennon to a deal to be their new quarterback.
The position and its development have been a disaster for multiple decades and the current management team has made it even worse. There need to be changes made and it needs to happen soon. One thing that can be done is getting some draft capital for Dalton on the trade block.
If the Bears did decide to trade Dalton, they would just keep using Fields as the starter and have Foles be the backup. They wouldn’t get much for him but they might get something which would be better than letting him sit there.
The Chicago Bears would be smart to trade Andy Dalton before the trade deadline.
They should have never gone in that direction as it is but now they have these three quarterbacks with nothing getting done. There might be contenders out there that need a placeholder for an injured quarterback or a reliable backup in case their starter gets hurt. These three trades would make the most sense as of right now:
