The Chicago Blackhawks have had a very bad start to the season. They are 0-3-1 with one point in the standings. There are probably big changes coming soon but that is a story for another day. On this night, ahead of their game against the Vancouver Canucks, the Hawks honored Patrick Kane for reaching 1000 games last season.

Kane wanted the Hawks to wait for this celebration so that it could happen in front of the Blackhawks fans. Of course, they couldn’t do that last year due to complications from COVID-19 protocols. There are fans in the stands again so they are now able to do these things the right way.

Patrick Kane’s family was there for the ceremony which was really nice to see. His son, Patrick Kane III stole the show. They have seen him grow into the player that he is today which is one of the greatest players in the history of the franchise. He has a case to be the greatest American-born player of all time.

Patrick Kane also delivered a nice speech before the game which was really cool to see. Hockey fans in Chicago are very smart and very passionate which makes nights like this fun. It is nice to see Kane deliver like that on a night that should be special.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Patrick Kane have been a great match for each other.

We don’t know how things are going to go for Kane and the Hawks this season but the hope is that they can turn things around. They won’t get back into it overnight but there is a whole season ahead. Going into the game, he had one goal and three assists for four points in the first four games. That is great for most players but we also know that there is another level that Kane will get to this season.

Patrick Kane was honored ahead of his 1034th career game. In his first 1033 games, he has put together a Hall of Fame career. He has 405 goals and 687 assists for 1092 points. He has won a scoring title, three Stanley Cups, the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Hart Trophy as the league MVP.

There is no doubt that his first 1000 games delivered the goods. He isn’t a young player anymore but there are still many good moments ahead for him. We can only hope that things start to turn around for the team so that we can see Kane play in high leverage situations again soon. He is one of the greatest team sports athletes in Chicago history.
