The Chicago Blackhawks might be forced to trade Calvin de Haan at some point.
The Chicago Blackhawks aren’t only able to trade players that are often healthy scratches either. They might want to trade good players that are on expiring contracts as well. Calvin de Haan fits that bill. They won’t trade him right away because they still have a chance to be a good team but they need to get out of this early season funk quickly.
de Haan won’t be traded if the Chicago Blackhawks turn tings around and look like a playoff team. However, if they are not by the trade deadline, they will for sure move him to a contender. A team that has a chance to win the Stanley Cup would love to add a player like this. They could trade him now too for a boost and to wake everyone else up but that might not be the smartest idea.
He would get them a fair amount back in return because he is a really good player. The Blackhawks weren’t able to get the most out of him because they don’t play a good system for their roster. If he goes to another team and thrives even more at some point this season, don’t even be a little bit surprised.
The Chicago Blackhawks need to make some changes. The coach and the GM are in trouble if they don’t turn it around soon but some players might need to be moved as well. Hopefully, regardless of what happens, they are able to start stringing some wins together.
