Chicago Cubs: Joc Pederson continues to dominate with Rizzo’s bat
The Chicago Cubs are watching the postseason from home. However, they have seen plenty of their former players play in the postseason so far. One of those players is Joc Pederson who is on the Atlanta Braves.
Atlanta is currently playing the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. It is a matchup of two very good teams trying to make it to the final dance. Both of these teams are loaded with talent which makes it a very compelling series.
Pederson has been magnificent in October so far. He has three home runs amongst a few other big moments throughout. Atlanta defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS to get here and he was a huge part of it all.
In the postseason, Joc has been using Anthony Rizzo’s bat. Of course, Rizzo was traded to the New York Yankees at the trade deadline but he is one of the greatest Chicago Cubs of all time. There is plenty of Chicago Cubs flavor in this postseason and this is one of the big stories. On Sunday night, he belted a huge home run using that Rizzo bat.
The Chicago Cubs are well represented in the National League Championship Series.
Joc Pederson has been one of the best postseason performers over the last ten years. This home run tied the game at the time which was a big moment in the game. The Braves would eventually go on to win the game on a walk-off single which gave them a 2-0 series lead. They were major underdogs going into the series and are looking good as of right now.
The Braves and Dodgers are now going to head back to Los Angeles where they will play games three, four, and five if necessary. It is going to be very hard to play there as it has been for the Braves in recent memory. It was very important for them to win that game for this reason. They are going to need to see players like Joc have big moments like this.
It should be a priority for baseball fans to check out a series like this. With stars like Mookie Betts, Justin Turner, Trea Turner, Max Scherzer, Walker Buehler taking on stars like Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Max Fried, and Austin Riley, it is must-see TV.
You can decide who you want to root for of these two National League foes but there is definitely lots of Cubs flavor in the Braves dugout because of Pederson. It was really cool to see him have yet another moment like that and doing it with Rizzo’s bat is even cooler.
