Allen Robinson might get the Chicago Bears a decent return on the trade market.

The Chicago Bears have been dealing with Allen Robinson’s drama for over a year now. He has been handed a franchise tag for 2021 because of the fact that they can’t come to terms with an agreement.

Robinson has been one of the best wide receivers in the National Football League for a long time and wants to be paid as such. However, his production lately makes things hard to evaluate in terms of his upcoming contract.

The Bears really don’t want to get themselves into even more cap trouble by locking up an aging wide receiver to a bad contract. It has been fun to see Robinson play for the Bears during some of the great years of his career but they can probably get a decent amount for him. A team with a legit chance at the Super Bowl might pay a premium for a receiver like that.

It would be nice to see Robinson stick around for a few years to help Justin Fields. The kid would benefit from having a wide receiver of his caliber but business is business sometimes. There will be other good receivers that come in after he leaves and those guys will help Fields. They can’t keep franchise tagging him and they would be foolish to lose him for nothing.
