1. The Chicago Bears must unleash their tight ends against the Raiders

One of the players a lot of fans have talked about recently on social media is tight end Cole Kmet. Some have wondered where he has been or why he hasn’t “shown up.” However, Kmet has simply not been utilized within the offense over the first four weeks.

The area he is contributing most, quite honestly, is in blocking. With the Bears’ hilarious mistake of not protecting Justin Fields against the Cleveland Browns, and instead going 5-man protection on the majority of his drop backs, Bill Lazor took over play-calling and also adjusted the protection scheme. Kmet has actually done a great job helping out as, essentially, a second offensive tackle.

But, against the Raiders, he is someone the Bears have to unleash. Las Vegas has gotten absolutely killed by tight ends over the past two games, and it’s become a glaring weakness of their defense.

The Chargers’ tight ends combined for nine catches, 121 yards and two scores against the Raiders in their most recent matchup, while two weeks ago, Miami’s Mike Gesicki caught a whopping 10 passes.

With Fields under center, the Bears will be using tight ends quite often as extra blockers to establish the run game and, in turn, run play action. Kmet can be one guy who has a big game against the Raiders because of their glaring weakness there.
