The Chicago Cubs had a very interesting season in 2021. They had ups and downs that made the entire season feel like a roller coaster. It started off pretty good as the team looked like they would be in contention for yet another NL Central Division title. However, it didn’t take long for the pitching to fall flat and force the team to lose a bunch of games.

They traded away some key pieces of the team that ended the 108 year World Series drought by winning it in 2016. Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Javier Baez have been three of the best Cubs payers ever. On expiring contracts, it was clear that if the team was losing and they didn’t reach extensions, they would be gone. By the trade deadline, they were all gone.

The Cubs even traded away star relievers like Craig Kimbrel and Ryan Tepera to the Chicago White Sox which made their 2021 intentions very clear. It was sad for Cubs fans to see it end like that but sometimes business is business. It is up to them to rebuild it back up now.

Part of rebuilding it back up is having good players to build around. All of those big trades that they made returned young players that are hoping to become full-time Major League Baseball players someday soon. There are also some really good Minor League players that the Cubs already had in the pipeline that should make an impact as early as next season.

There were some good things that came out of the 2021 Chicago Cubs season.

There are also some good players on the current roster to consider bringing back. The Cubs had some positives this season and the emergence of certain players is one of them. These are three players that the Cubs absolutely need to bring back next season if they can:
