The Chicago Bears are off to a very predictable start. They are an okay roster with a very bad coach. They were able to beat the Cincinnati Bengals who have a similarly talented roster and the Detroit Lions who are terrible. They were defeated by the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams who are both Super Bowl contenders.

Now, a very tough stretch of games looms as the Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are next. Those are all good teams that present different challenges. It all starts with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in week five.

The National Football League added a 17th game to the now 18-week schedule. The extra game for the Bears in 2021 is the AFC West team that came in second place last season which happens to be those Las Vegas Raiders. We were able to zone in on the Raiders as they participated in Monday Night Football last night to close out week four.

Vegas was defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers by a final score of 28-14. The Raiders went into the game undefeated but both teams are now 3-1. The Raiders almost mounted a comeback after being down 21-0 but the Chargers’ offense was able to get another touchdown late which took the wind out of Vegas.

The Chicago Bears learned a lot about the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

This was the type of game that the Chicago Bears can watch to learn some Raiders’ weaknesses. The Chargers’ defense took care of a very good Las Vegas offense. Justin Herbert was also able to make some big plays on the Raiders’ defense as well. It would be nice to see Matt Nagy learn from these things as he designs the game plan for this upcoming week.

Nagy has made it where we now wonder who will be the starting quarterback on a week-to-week basis. He is adamant that Andy Dalton will be the starter when he is healthy even though it is so obvious that Justin Fields is the better option. He showed against the Lions that he can make some big plays like Herbert was making on Monday Night Football.

Every NFL team watches tape but the Bears and their fans were able to see the next opponent on live television in primetime. The Chargers exposed some things about a 3-0 team that the Bears could beat if they execute a game plan.

Nobody should trust Matt Nagy to execute the said game plan but at least we know it is possible. There should be enough here from this Monday Night Football game to learn things about Las Vegas’s offense and defense.

With the Bears defense playing the way that it is so far, they should be able to come up with something. It is scoring enough points that is the main worry. It is a fun matchup to preview but the Bears need to play at their very best in order to take care of these Raiders.
