It was supposed to rain, but it was all sunshine and smiles around the Chicago Bears as they easily handled the Detroit Lions 24-14 for their second win of the season. The Bears are now 2-2, and while that record is not great, this game definitely gives the team something to build upon.

Justin Fields looked just a little bit more comfortable today. His passes were crisper, he had a lot more big throws downfield, and the entire team just looked more in sync. One of the biggest changeups was who was calling plays.

Matt Nagy gave up the play-calling position for today, letting Bill Lazor and the offense had a career-high 24 points and over 300 yards of total offense for today. As for next week, things are still up in the air but hopefully, that changes.

The Chicago Bears got a big win yesterday against the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field.

Justin Fields had a great day with the Bears. While obviously, this was a game against the Detroit Lions, any game is not an easy win in the NFL. Fields threw for 209 yards and was 11 for 17 on the day, better than that was David Montgomery. Montgomery had 23 carries, rushed for 106 yards, and had two touchdowns on the day.

Next up on the schedule for the Bears is the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders play the Los Angeles Rams in Monday Night Football this week so it will be a shorter week than normal for them. For the Bears, this momentum they created today with the win against the Lions should hopefully carry over to next weekend in Las Vegas.

Of course, knowing who the quarterback should be (Fields) and who should be calling plays (Lazor) is something the team should actually be expecting going into this week’s game plan. The Bears shouldn’t wait until right before the game to make the decision on who the starter is. Fields showed today in different moments that he is the guy that should lead this team on the field.

Another main element of today’s game was the defense. The Bears had some great help at times from their defense that had their fair share of sacks and fumble recoveries today. For the Bears to win, especially against better teams like the Raiders, they are going to need their defense to get involved.

This game for the bears was obviously not their toughest matchup of the season but it was still a win this team needed to get. Being 2-2 is drastically different than 1-3. Now, the Bears are still in it going into their next matchup and hopefully, after next weekend they can have a winning record.
