The Chicago Bears are in big trouble. They are a bad football team that is up against the salary cap ceiling and doesn’t have their 2022 first-round pick. They can’t win games but they also can’t rebuild properly because the organization is such a mess. They get no benefit from tanking as a result which really makes things tough. Despite that fact, it is clear that losing to the Cincinnati Bengals today would be good for them.

For one, we all know about the quarterback drama. Justin Fields is clearly the guy who should be under center but they are sticking with Andy Dalton. He wasn’t terrible in week one but there were a few instances where it would have clearly been better to have Fields in. Unfortunately, the “football guys” can’t see that.

Dalton will make his second start of the season with the Bears against his old Bengals team. As mentioned before, losing to them would be great. It might force the Bears to make a change at quarterback. We all want to see what Fields can do as the starter and there isn’t any reason it shouldn’t be now.

Losing would also make Matt Nagy look bad. Ryan Pace already looks bad because of how terrible the roster is so now it is about making Nagy look bad. They are both terrible at their jobs which has led to the demise of what once looked like a promising Bears core. Unfortunately, it has all gone downhill since the 2018 season where they were an elite team.

The Chicago Bears would benefit from losing to the Cincinnati Bengals this week.

Starting 0-2 would almost guarantee a bad full-season record for the Bears. With teams like the Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks on the schedule, things don’t get any easier.

Of course, some people see the Bengals as a team that the Bears should just beat. That is not the case. The Bears are in no position to believe that they are better than them. Joe Burrow has that team on the rise and they could be very good in short order. They did what the Bears couldn’t do in week one and that is win.

It is unfortunate that we feel this way. A once proud organization is in shambles and nobody knows what to do with it. Every player that leaves town thrives so it makes you actually wonder what is going on there. Nobody wants to root against their team but it is fair to root for change.
