The Chicago Blackhawks may be willing to give some young defenseman for Eichel.
The Chicago Blackhawks have some great defensemen in the mix. They made a big trade to acquire Seth Jones from the Columbus Blue Jackets. They also added his brother Caleb Jones which is going to be a lot of fun for them. Former Sabre Jake McCabe is also a Blackhawks defenseman now which is really nice because he is very good.
With all of these guys joining Connor Murphy, Calvin de Haan, and Riley Stillman, it might be hard for the younger players to crack the lineup right away. For that reason, trading two very good young defensemen like Ian Mitchell and Nicolas Beaudin to the Sabres in exchange for Eichel would tremendously help out both sides. Each team has something that the other could use in the year 2021.
Buffalo is changing up their whole defense. They drafted Owen Power with the first overall pick but he will play another season at Michigan which should really help his development. They also have Rasmus Dahlin who was their number one overall pick in 2018.
Dahlin has superstar potential so it will be interesting to see how he pans out. If they can add more good young defensemen like Mitchell and Beaudin to join them, things could turn around quicker than expected.
