Chicago Bears: 3 major roster concerns heading into week one
By Ryan Taylor
The Chicago Bears need some serious help in regards to the wide receiver.
The Bears made some difficult cuts to the wide receiver room on cut day. They let go of sixth-round draft pick Dazz Newsome and fan-favorite Rodney Adams.
Bears fans took to Twitter to react to the news on Adams, according to USAToday Bears wire. Adams scored a 73-yard touchdown in the preseason after just becoming a father, which in turn gave him support from Bears fans for his uplifting story.
Newsome was an excellent addition from the draft out of North Carolina, known for “setting up” his matchups in route running and excelling with speed.
While Bears fans were not too happy with these two cuts, the front office made up for the move by signing Breshad Perriman.
Perriman has had plenty of success in the league. His best season came two years ago with the Buccaneers, where he put up 645 receiving yards and six touchdowns with the team.
Last season, he had just over 500 yards and three touchdowns with the Jets as a larger piece of their receiving core puzzle.
While the tail end of the wide receiver room was a concern, management made up for it with a solid veteran signing with great upside as the sixth receiver.
