RW. New York Islanders. Kyle Palmieri. 21. player. 106.

Kyle Palmieri would make the Chicago Blackhawks a better team upon his arrival.

Kyle Palmieri has to be one of the best offensive players left on the free-agent market. He was traded from the New Jersey Devils to the New York Islanders last season in the same deal that sent Travis Zajac to the Island. Now, both of them are still considered to be looking for jobs. If the Hawks added a sniper like Palmieri, they would be looking really nice on paper right now.

In the short 2021 season, Palmieri had 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 51 games split between the Devils and Islanders. It was certainly a down year but he doesn’t have those too often. You can almost always expect at least 25 goals and 50 points from a guy like Palmieri. He might even see his numbers climb above his career averages if he came to Chicago.

You would have to imagine that someone like Patrick Kane would get a few cracks at him. Kane is still one of five or six best passers in the game and a sniper like Palmieri would benefit from that situation. The power play is another spot for someone of Palmieri’s type to fit in. He would have the puck on his stick with chances to shoot so much on this team so it is something for both to still consider. Every team in the NHL should want some like this.
