Chicago Bears Roster: Recently-cut Jimmy Moreland would bolster secondary

Lastly, one of the more pressing needs — if not the most pressing need — is at cornerback. Once again, we go back to the Washington Football Team, who has released some pretty intriguing names already.

Veteran cornerback Jimmy Moreland was cut by Washington after some intense competition at cornerback. Moreland immediately becomes one of the top names available for other teams to claim.

As a guy who has starting experience and can play both outside and in the slot, Moreland would be a dream signing for the Bears. He is exactly the type of player they need. Moreland has a knack for going after the football and has tremendous ball skills.

After being a seventh-round pick back in 2019 out of James Madison, Moreland became an integral part of the Football Team’s secondary. However, this defense has gotten so good and so deep at certain positions that Moreland was a tough cut to make on Tuesday morning.

The Bears could see Moreland immediately come in and compete for the starting slot cornerback position, and even push to start opposite Jaylon Johnson. Chicago is extremely weak here, and signing multiple corners within the next couple of days is not out of the question. Pace is certainly going to be interested in Moreland, you can bet on that.
