Chicago Bears Roster: Recently-cut Antonio Gandy-Golden would be a worthy risk

This is a tough one, because the Bears have so much talent at wide receiver. If they went after Antonio Gandy-Golden, the Bears would likely have to part with either Riley Ridley or Rodney Adams. There is also a possibility that Dazz Newsome ends up on the practice squad, but we don’t know that just yet.

Regardless, Gandy-Golden is a former fourth rounder out of Liberty. He was drafted just last year, so being cut this soon seems a bit premature, especially for a team that isn’t exactly set with depth at the position.

Gandy-Golden has great size at 6-foot-4 and would offer the Bears a similar body style as Javon Wims, except I believe Gandy-Golden is far more talented and offers more potential in the long run.

Things didn’t work out for him in Washington, but he hardly had much of a shot to begin with. Last year, a hamstring injury kept him out most of the season. Therefore, he was buried on the depth chart without much of a chance to come back and make an impact.

Again, it would be a tough move to make. But, Gandy-Golden’s upside is still pretty high. If the Bears wanted to take a chance, he might be worth it.
