Chicago Bears final roster prediction: Offensive Line

Jason Peters, Cody Whitehair, Sam Mustipher, James Daniels, Germain Ifedi, Elijah Wilkinson, Alex Bars, Lachavious Simmons, Larry Borom, Arlington Hambright

We have now come to one of the pain points of the team, at least for the time being. Ever since rookie Teven Jenkins had to undergo surgery that would put him out the majority of the season, things have looked more bleak for the Bears’ offensive line.

Injuries were the name of the game during training camp, with about half of this group being hurt at one point or another. Finally, the Bears were able to see their projected starting five in preseason action, but it was a rough showing against Tennessee as they haven’t gotten any time together as a unit.

Keeping nine offensive linemen seems like a lot, here, but the Bears are a team that needs as many bodies up front as they can get. The interior of the line is set, so long as Whitehair, Mustipher and Daniels stay healthy. But, tackle has been another story.

Hopefully, the newly-signed Peters proves he indeed has one more good year in him and can stay on the field. Then, it’s up to Ifedi to live up to his coach’s expectations for 2021. If the starting five can stay healthy, there’s reason to believe they could actually be a pretty solid group once they play a bit more together.
