Chicago Bears final roster prediction: Wide Receivers, Tight Ends

Wide Receivers: Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, Marquise Goodwin, Damiere Byrd, Dazz Newsome, Rodney Adams

One of the most talked about positions as of late is at wide receiver, but mostly due to the team’s sixth spot on the depth chart. For the last couple of years, that spot belonged to Javon Wims, who was recently cut.

Then, the next candidate up would have been former fourth-round pick Riley Ridley. However, the ascension of Rodney Adams and everything he has battled through to get here has been an incredible story this summer. Adams doesn’t just have a great story, but he’s a talented wideout and earned his spot on the roster.

One guy fans should be eager to watch develop is rookie Dazz Newsome, who recently started working his way back onto the field after a broken collarbone to begin his career.

Tight Ends: Cole Kmet, Jimmy Graham, Jesse James, Jesper Horsted

This season, Cole Kmet is taking the reins as the team’s number one tight end with Jimmy Graham still being a threat in the red zone. What’s been interesting, though, is how much newcomer Jesse James has impacted this offense, specifically Fields.

With James performing so well in camp and the preseason, he’s earned his roster spot and should provide a nice target during certain situations — maybe even as a third tight end in the red zone on particular plays which tend to fool defenses.

Jesper Horsted did more than enough in the preseason finale to find his way onto the team as the fourth tight end. There’s no question he belongs.
