Chicago Bears Roster: 10 players to cut after preseason finale
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears roster should not include Teez Tabor or Dieter Eiselen
9. DB Teez Tabor
The Bears are going to see some turnover at defensive back in the next week, guaranteed. The team needs additional help at cornerback in a big way. Teez Tabor is technically a safety, but has played multiple spots in his career.
For Tabor, he simply hasn’t done enough in the preseason or camp to warrant the Bears keeping him aboard.
At safety, the Bears are pretty set. They have Eddie Jackson, Tashaun Gipson, DeAndre Houston-Carson and Deon Bush. Even Marqui Christian could double as a safety while also playing mostly nickel. So, Tabor’s time on the Bears is done.
10. OL Dieter Eiselen
The former Yale product is a tough kid, hard worker and couldn’t be a nicer guy. Unfortunately for Dieter Eiselen, there isn’t enough room for him on the roster. At one point the offensive line was in rough shape, but it’s coming more into focus now.
Playing both guard and center, Eiselen does offer the Bears some nice versatility. But, Chicago has a guy ahead of him who does the same thing.
Alex Bars can play any position up front, and the Bears will likely keep him over someone like Eiselen or even Adam Redmond. Bars’ experience reins supreme here. Eiselen might stick around on the practice squad when the dust settles, but for now, he won’t make the final 53.
