The Chicago Blackhawks might want draft picks if they trade away Dylan Strome.
The Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens have been known to make deals with each other in the past. Strome would be a perfect fit for the Montreal Canadiens right now if they want to compete again in 2020-21. They took full advantage of being in the weak North Division (all Canada) last season and got hot in the playoffs.
The Habs rode that wave all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. They even defeated a juggernaut like the Vegas Golden Knights to get there and prove that they are legit. Unfortunately, they were defeated in the Final by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Now, they will go back to the Atlantic Division where they will have teams like that same Lightning team, Florida Panthers, and Boston Bruins.
If they want to remain competitive, they might want to add some more depth. Dylan Strome would be a perfect fit because they could use more players that could play center. They would even get away with him on the wing but playing center there would be much appreciated.
We don’t know for sure if the Hawks will trade him but there are plenty of reasons to believe that it is possible. All we can do at this point is hope that if it does happen, it is a trade that helps the Blackhawks going forward.
