Chicago Bears Roster: Team will cut two recent draft picks at WR

The writing has been on the wall for a couple of players, one being former Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller, who was already traded to the Texans a few weeks back. Other guys at the receiver position have seen their stock fall tremendously in the last month, though.

When it is all said and done, the Bears will cut ties with two of their own recent draft picks, both hailing from Georgia.

Javon Wims and Riley Ridley simply don’t fit on this roster anymore. Wims has shown plenty of mental mistakes over the course of the last year, while Ridley hasn’t caught on with the coaching staff and should just be allowed to find a new team.

The Bears’ final wide receiver room will look as follows: Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, Marquise Goodwin, Damiere Byrd, Dazz Newsome and Rodney Adams.

The “surprise” here, if you will, is Adams. This guy has worked his tail off to get to this point and deserves a spot on the Bears roster. His relationship with Justin Fields is obvious, and the talent is clearly there.

Newsome was one of the Bears’ draft picks this year and should contribute on special teams right away. The rest of the group should see plenty of time on the field, obviously.
