Chicago Bears Roster: Team will sign two new cornerbacks after league-wide cuts

One of the most worrisome positions on this Bears roster continues to be at cornerback. Just a couple of weeks ago, it looked like Kindle Vildor was an up-and-coming player for the Bears, taking over the second starting corner position.

Now that Vildor’s performance has come into question after his showing in the preseason so far, the Bears shouldn’t be as confident in him and instead hope that Desmond Trufant can get back and playing good football.

Artie Burns, Tre Roberson, Duke Shelley, Xavier Crawford and Thomas Graham haven’t exactly inspired confidence in the position either. The past month has shown the Bears have a true weakness here, and after the final cuts by other teams, do not be shocked if the Bears sign a pair of corners from other teams’ rosters.

I could see Roberson, Shelley, Crawford and Burns all being cut at the end of the day, with the Bears keeping Jaylon Johnson, Vildor, Trufant, Graham and then signing two others who end up being cut loose by other teams. Hopefully, there is some solid talent available in a few days.
