Chicago Bears Roster: Predicting 4 surprises for final cuts
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears have found themselves at the center of conversation around NFL media as of late. Head coach Matt Nagy continues to baffle most of us with his decision to stick with quarterback Andy Dalton and refuse to allow rookie Justin Fields to get meaningful time with the starters.
While much attention has been on the quarterback situation in Chicago, there are several other storylines to pay close attention to.
Final roster cuts are to be made in just five days. By 4PM ET on Tuesday, every team will have to get their teams down to the mandated 53-man roster. Until then, there are a lot of factors in play for Chicago.
Just what, exactly, will Nagy and his coaching staff choose to do when it comes to those bubble players?
When the final Chicago Bears roster is announced on Tuesday, we could see several surprises take place.
This is the time of year where teams make tough decisions. For the Bears, they have quite a few to make.
For starters, what does the team do at inside linebacker now that Alec Ogletree has exploded onto the scene in Chicago? How about up front on the offensive line? Who will be kept for the long haul?
The Bears even have questions when it comes to receiver, special teams and, of course, quarterback. Speaking of quarterback, the first surprise we could see come to fruition has to do with the lesser talked about Nick Foles. This would be the first of four surprises we could watch unfold when the Bears’ roster is announced.
