Chicago Bulls can be viewed as a playoff team for right now

The Chicago Bulls were one of the most active teams of the entire offseason. There has been a lot of excitement based on the moves that they have made. During the 2021 NBA Draft, they didn’t have a first-round pick but they selected Ayo Dosunmu in the second round. Dosunmu led the University of Illinois program to a number one seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament and had a very good collegiate career.

Other big moves during the offseason include the additions of guys like Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Alex Caruso. These guys will be joining the likes of Nikola Vucevic, Zach LaVine, and Patrick Williams amongst others. It is an exciting group of players that are going to try and turn things around for this organization.

The addition of Lonzo Ball is the big storyline of the summer. They have a player now that has a really good two-way ability. He can change the game on offense and defense in different ways. He certainly has another level to get to as an NBA player but he is certainly a major upgrade.

Alex Caruso will be the most underrated signing of the offseason. He is an elite “point of attack” defender and will be able to keep opponents from creating any sort of advantage. His defense is going to really help the Bulls win a lot of games. The Lakers are upset that they let him get away and he could be the key piece to all of this working for the Bulls.

As for DeRozen, he doesn’t play much defense but that is what Ball and Caruso are there for. He is someone that has developed into a very nice playmaker that makes very good decisions. With Zach LaVine on the same court, these two might be able to make some really nice and impactful plays. When you add it all together, it is a very good team that should be able to compete.

The Chicago Bulls are hoping to compete with the best of the Eastern Conference.

Of course, the Brooklyn Nets are the class of the Eastern Conference right now. When they are healthy, they have the most talented roster in the entire NBA and should be considered favorites to win the championship right now.

However, the Bulls are just trying to make the playoffs at this point and develop a winning culture. They have certainly brought in a management team that looks committed to doing that. With some of these new players, it seems like they should be able to get that done.
