The Chicago Blackhawks will love having Tyler Johnson on their roster this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks had a problem with forward depth last season. It has been the least of their worries in previous seasons but it showed a lot in 2020-21. It didn’t help that Jonathan Toews missed the entire season and Kirby Dach missed most of it. Now, they should have both of them back which will help things. It will also help to have Tyler Johnson in the mix.

Chicago made a trade that brought Johnson over so he can be one of their depth forwards. He can play center and wing which is going to make him a very valuable player for them. He could center the second line of Dach needs some relief of he could be the third line guy if they want that type of depth. He should be able to make any players around him better in this role.

When Johnson was with the Lightning, he had to take a lesser role because that team was so stacked. You might remember that he was a very good offensive player when his role was expanded earlier in his career. It is going to be interesting to see how he plays with the Hawks and how they use him. If they can get some great play from him, they should be able to roll out three really good lines.

If all of these guys make the impact that we think they can, they should be able to win enough games to be in the playoffs. With the way that their careers have gone to this point, there are plenty of reasons to believe good things are in store.
