The Chicago Blackhawks could make a big trade for Dylan Strome in the coming weeks.

The Chicago Blackhawks made a great trade for Dylan Strome a few years ago. They sent Nick Schmaltz to the Arizona Coyotes to get him. They are both good players but it never felt like Schmaltz actually wanted to play for the Blackhawks. Sometimes, it felt like he didn’t even want to be playing hockey at all but that is an entirely different conversation.

Now, it might be time to trade Strome again. He is someone who has been a trade candidate for a little bit now. He plays well but you always feel like you could get more out of him. He has had some great seasons with the Hawks but 2020-21 wasn’t great. He had nine goals and eight assists for 17 total points in 40 games played.

With Jonathan Toews coming back, the addition of Tyler Johnson, and another full season of Kirby Dach, it is hard to see Strome being a centerman for them. He can play wing but he might have more value to them on the trade market. They might not get a boatload for him but they will certainly get an asset or two that can help them.

They might also be able to make a player trade for someone that could be more useful to their current roster. Strome is still a good player with a lot of good years ahead of him so he might be someone that other teams consider.
