Chicago Bears: 5 players who should be cut In next wave
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears should cut running back Ryan Nall
For a few years now, the Bears coaching staff has had a weird obsession with running back Ryan Nall. Sure, he is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. However, he doesn’t belong in the NFL as a running back. By this point, he should have switched positions to either fullback or tight end.
The Bears’ running back room is incredibly deep. David Montgomery is going to get a ton of work, but guys like Damien Williams and rookie fifth rounder Khalil Herbert are going to get in on the action at times as well.
Let’s not forget Tarik Cohen, who will be sprinkled in when he returns to full health. That’s four running backs who should see the field each and every week in some fashion. For Nall, there simply isn’t any room.
Nall is a well-respected player, therefore he should have an opportunity to find a new home with enough time before the season begins. The team may choose to keep guys like Artavis Pierce or C.J. Marable on the practice squad this year, with the latter offering a little more versatility.
Nall has yet to make a real impact in the regular season and just doesn’t offer enough to the Bears for them to keep him around.
