The Chicago Bears could include DeAndre Houston-Carson in a trade for C.J. Henderson

The Jaguars added some talent to their secondary via the draft this year, but they could certainly afford to add another body to that group. The Bears have had DeAndre Houston-Carson playing a reserve role for a few years now, but he’s filled in nicely when given an opportunity.

If the Bears dealt Houston-Carson, they would still have Deon Bush as their primary backup safety. Along with Bush, the Bears still have experienced veterans Marqui Christian and Jordan Lucas, who are more than qualified to take Houston-Carson’s spot.

Christian, specifically, was a solid part of the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl team just a couple of years ago. Keeping him on the roster could be a priority either way at this point.

The Bears would be looking for a future starter at safety anyways next year, and this group could look a lot different come the 2022 season. If they could get something for a guy like Houston-Carson who may be gone next year anyways, it would be worth it. Now, the Bears may have to throw in a draft pick here too, which would depend on how pricy of a pick they’d have to give up.
