The Chicago Cubs absolutely need to move Kris Bryant before the trade deadline.

The Chicago Cubs developed Kris Bryant really nicely since drafting him. He turned into the most successful player in the history of the franchise. He won a Rookie of the Year, National League MVP, and a World Series championship. He is also statistically one of the best players in the history of the team as well. He should be very proud of what he has accomplished so far in his MLB career.

Unfortunately, it is clear that the second half of his career will be with another team. The Cubs aren’t going to get what some people think they will get for him but they should still get a decent return. It is hard to trade an expiring contract superstar when you have no leverage and that is what the Cubs are dealing with right now.

Bryant is an attractive trade chip, however, because of his ability to play every position. On Wednesday, he played shortstop for the first time this season which meant that he now has six positions under his belt in 2021. It is something that every team will enjoy if they were to land him. He is also having a really nice year with his bat so there is no downside to trading for him. The Cubs need to get this done.
