Chicago Bulls NBA Draft: 3 Giannis-like players to take in the second round
By Ryan Taylor
The Chicago Bulls could draft Jeremiah Robinson-Earl in the second round
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is a 6-foot-9 and 230-pound big man out of Villanova. He played two years at Nova before entering this year’s draft. Robinson-Earl is listed as a power forward but plays like a guard.
Robinson’s best strength comes on the defensive side of the ball, with his ability to guard all five positions. He has great footwork and is excellent at sticking to the play and aggressiveness of his matchup. He does not give up easily.
He is a smart defender and can see plays as they’re happening on the floor. His pick-and-roll defensive is a huge plus to his game too.
Robinson averaged 15.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in his sophomore season at Villanova. His stats are impressive for a young kid playing in the Big East.
Robinson is extremely efficient with the ball in his hands and can slash just like a guard even with the physical makeup of a big forward. His shot is a work in progress, but he has a good feel for creating his own shot.
He has plenty of comparable traits to Giannis, with his excellent defense, rebounding ability, and creative techniques to get to the rim. He is projected to be taken one pick after the Bulls, so he should be around in the early to mid-second round.
