Chicago Bulls NBA Draft: 3 Giannis-like players to take in the second round
By Ryan Taylor
The Chicago Bulls could draft JT Thor in the second round
JT Thor is an under-the-table prospect, projected to be taken 36th in the draft via NBADraft.net. He is 6-foot-10 and 205 pounds and he plays like a small forward.
Thor is the definition of a younger Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s lanky and extremely mobile on the floor. He has great hands, can protect the rim with ease, and can create for himself on offense.
The most attractive quality of Thor’s game, as it relates to the Bulls’ needs, is his rim protection. Thor is an efficient blocker, gifted at avoiding fouls while going up to block shots. He’s also an impeccable rim protector from the help side of the defense, which was a major struggle for bigs with the Bulls last season.
Thor is a terrific offensive asset too. He scored just under 10 points per game last season on 44 percent shooting from the field and just under 30 percent shooting from three-point land. His statistics won’t show how fluid of a shot he has on the floor. Plus, his ability to create shots is outstanding.
Thor is an all-around athlete that can play and guard any position in the league. He’s an extremely raw prospect at 18 years old, and his speed and strength could use some work. Nevertheless, he would be a steal in the second round of the draft.
