Chicago Bulls second round point guard targets: McKinley Wright, Colorado
Going a bit further down most draft boards, you will find Colorado point guard McKinley Wright. In Wright, you’re looking at a well-seasoned player coming out of college. He played four years at Colorado, and started every season.

Wright enters the 2021 NBA Draft with 131 games of collegiate experience, which is quite a bit more than any of his fellow future draftees. At just six feet tall, Wright is more of a scrapper. He is a quick, physical type who excels at getting into the lane and making plays.
As mostly a pass-first point guard, Wright is better at getting his teammates involved than he is scoring on his own. He isn’t going to light it up from deep, nor is his jumper as consistent as you’d like to see. However, he plays the game the right way, again looking to get close to the basket and draw fouls or dish to the open man.
Some outlets believe Wright will be a great candidate to start out on a two-way contract and eventually work his way into becoming a solid backup in the NBA. For the Bulls, selecting Wright would likely require moving back a bit. You’ll probably see his name called in the latter half of the second round.
In his last season with Colorado, Wright posted 15.2 points on 48 percent shooting, 5.7 assists 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
