Chicago Blackhawks Draft: 3 players to trade up for
Dylan Guenther
The Chicago Blackhawks might be interested in adding up more wingers.
The Chicago Blackhawks already have some pretty nice wingers in the organization. Alex DeBrincat, Dominik Kubalik, and Patrick Kane are big parts of their top six on the wings. With players like Jonathan Toews, Kirby Dach, and Dylan Strome in the middle, they could put together a pretty nice top-six. They might look to keep that trend going when it comes to the 2021 NHL Draft.
If they wanted to take one of the super-skilled wingers, they might consider trading up to take Dylan Guenther. His draft status is hard to predict based on a lot of things. He could go in the top five or he could start slipping towards the bottom half of the top ten. If the latter becomes reality, the Hawks might want to swoop in.
Guenther plays for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL. He is known for having tremendous offensive skills including great playmaking and a good shot. He put both of those talents on full display with both the Oil Kings and Team Canada at the U-18 World Championships. His ceiling is a top-six forward on a good NHL team. He even has the skills to become a highly productive star.
The Hawks might really decide to trade up in the draft which is something teams do from time to time if they identify a player that they like and know they can’t get in their original slot. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to at least consider it.
