Chicago Blackhawks: 3 unprotected players for Seattle to take
Adam Gaudette is one of the newer members of the Chicago Blackhawks organization.
The Chicago Blackhawks made a nice trade for Adam Gaudette earlier in the 2020-21 season around the trade deadline. It seemed at the time like a move that they made to help them with this Expansion Draft. He is a good player that Seattle might consider taking instead of their other players. He, like Zadorov, is an RFA looking for a new contract. If Seattle was willing to work with him on that, it would be something worth considering.
He was traded to Chicago from the Vancouver Canucks so sending him back up to Seattle might be something he is interested in on a personal level. They are going to be a good team and he could be a big part of it. As of now, you would have to consider Gaudette a middle-six forward on a good team. In an ideal world, he is on a third line for a team with an incredible top-six. He has the tools to make an impact.
Gaudette is one of a few forwards that Seattle can consider here. There are also players like Ryan Carpenter and Vinnie Hinostroza to consider but each of them has different contract situations that will weigh into the decision. Gaudette is the best fit for the new team amongst the forwards. It seems more likely that the Kraken will select one of the defensemen but there is no shortage of good players all around to consider.
