Chicago Cubs, New York Mets trade no. 1 for Kris Bryant

If we started a bit lower for a return, the highest prospect the Mets would give up here is their no. 9 prospect, outfielder Alex Ramirez. The 18-year-old out of the Dominican Republic is an exceptional athlete and possesses a strong arm. He is blazing fast and grades out in the upper 20 percent in fielding, according to FanGraphs.

Ramirez likely won’t enter the Majors for a while — think around 2025 or so. But, he could pay major dividends in a few years for the Cubs. His power is much-improved as well, which is something he lacked as a high schooler. Ramirez could turn into a future star.

In addition to Ramirez, the Mets would deal their no. 19 overall prospect according to MLB’s Top 100, right-hander Jordany Ventura. The 21-year-old isn’t anticipated to come up until probably 2023, but would give Chicago an arm that possesses an upper-echelon slider and a pretty strong fastball as well.

Lastly, the Cubs would get the Mets’ no. 27 prospect in righty Joander Suarez. The Venezuelan-born Suarez is 21 years old and will probably aim for a 2023 debit, like Ventura. Suarez has appeared in six games this year for St. Lucie and holds an ERA of 7.66 in 24.2 innings pitched.
