Barclay Goodrow would certainly provide a spark to the Chicago Blackhawks next year.

Barclay Goodrow was on Blake Coleman’s line and they formed the best third line in the playoffs. It is hard to think of a third line that supported their stars over the last two years than this line in Tampa Bay. You already read about how good Coleman was for them and Goodrow was no different. They all came up huge and even more so in the Stanley Cup Final. Players like this are what separates good teams from great teams.

In the short 2020-21 season, Goodrow had six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 55 games. It isn’t the stuff of superstars or anything like that but it is a good total for a player in his role. It is going to be hard for them to replace a player like that, especially one who elevates his game once the playoffs roll around.

If Goodrow came to the Hawks, he would have a very similar role as the one described for Coleman. Blake Coleman has more upside offensively so Goodrow probably doesn’t touch a top-six line at any point but that is okay. Whichever team ends up with him is going to be very happy and newfound depth.
