Blake Coleman would add a tremendous boost to the Chicago Blackhawks forwards.

The Chicago Blackhawks lack a lot of depth in their forward group. Of course, you can’t go wrong with guys like Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews at the top but the bottom six leaves a lot to be desired. If they signed someone like Blake Coleman, they would be so much better all around. He is a great defender that can chip in a fair amount of offense for you. He isn’t necessarily going to be cheap but he isn’t going to break the bank or anything like that.

It has been an interesting time for Blake Coleman. Not long before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, he was traded from the New Jersey Devils to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He played there for a bit before the pause but was amazing in the bubble. He then won the Stanley Cup with his new team and followed it up with another the following year.

If Coleman came to play in Chicago, there are plenty of intriguing options for him in terms of his linemates. He can play at a high level on pretty much any line. If you need him to score and put him on either of your top two lines, he has proven that he can do that. He is probably best suited on a really good third line but can handle fourth-line duties if needed as well. He is also the type of player that can kill penalties and produce on the power play as well. Lots of teams will be looking at Blake Coleman this summer.
